Rencana memainkan peran yang sangat penting untuk meraih kesuksesan dalam bertani. Perencanaan ini dapat dibuat sesuai dengan versi masing-masing petani. Jika perlu, dapat dituliskan pada buku khusus.

Buah cabai sangat rentan terserang patek (antraknosa) ketika di musim hujan sedangkan daunnya mudah keriting dan terserang bulai di puncak kemarau. Jadi solusinya adalah dengan mulai menanam cabai di akhir musim penghujan dan panen diawal musim kemarau. Menanam jagung juga sebaiknya dilakukan di awal kemarau agar mudah mengeringkannya nanti tanpa khawatir hujan.
Apapun aktivitas yang Anda lakukan, pastinya akan membutuhkan bantuan orang lain, termasuk dalam pertanian. Peran orang lain untuk meraih kesuksesan pertanian dapat disebut sebagai sistem pendukung.
